1. Introduction

By accessing or using the CIVIREVIVAL services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by this Privacy Policy (“Policy”). If you do not agree with this Policy, you must cease using CIVIREVIVAL services immediately. You may withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information at any time in accordance with this Policy.

At CIVIREVIVAL, your privacy is of paramount importance to us. This Policy explains the types of information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, the duration of data retention, the rights you have over your personal data, how we resolve disputes, how we notify you of changes, and how you can contact us.

This Policy forms an integral part of the CIVIREVIVAL Terms of Service. It applies to all CIVIREVIVAL services that directly reference or link to it but does not apply to services with a separate privacy policy that is not expressly incorporated into this Policy.

2. Our Role as Data Controller
2.1 Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information.

First, we collect information you provide directly to us, such as details submitted through in-game surveys, the information you provide when seeking customer support (including your name, contact details, and issue records), and billing data such as your name, payment card number, and account details.

Second, we collect information automatically when you use our services. This includes your IP address, device data (such as device type, operating system, app version, network type), and logs of your interactions with the game, including date and time stamps. We also collect data whenever you interact with us, for example, through in-app support tools.

Third, we collect information generated during your use of CIVIREVIVAL, such as gameplay statistics, in-game performance, and progress records.

Fourth, we obtain data from third parties when you link your account to platforms such as WeChat, Facebook, or Google. This may include demographic data derived from your IP address, anti-fraud data such as indicators of chargeback abuse or advertising fraud, and payment verification data provided by the game platform.

Finally, we use cookies and similar technologies, including web beacons, log files, scripts, and entity tags, collectively referred to as “Cookies,” to enhance your gameplay experience. These technologies allow us to offer features, improve performance, and analyze usage. You can manage or disable Cookies through your device settings, but doing so may affect certain functionalities of the game.

2.2 How We Use Your Personal Information

We use your personal information for specific purposes, including associating your gameplay data and progress with your profile through the use of a unique open identifier; providing you with gameplay feedback and progress updates based on your gameplay statistics; improving our services and functionality using your IP address; enhancing performance, ensuring security, conducting verification, resolving bugs, and preventing multiple account abuse using your device ID and device data; maintaining transaction history through payment records from app stores; improving support quality and resolving technical issues using customer support records; ensuring operational integrity, security, and optimization through security-related data; and improving our services based on your survey responses.

In all such cases, we may conduct analysis, profiling, and segmentation of collected data to better understand player behavior, identify issues, and improve game features.

2.3 Legal Basis for Processing (EU Residents)

If you reside in the European Union, we process personal information under various legal bases, including your consent, the necessity of processing to perform a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests where such interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms. For instance, we may rely on contractual necessity to maintain your account, legitimate interests to deliver targeted marketing, and consent where applicable.

3. Sharing of Personal Information

We may share your personal information with third parties in and outside your country of residence. This includes our service providers who perform hosting, customer support, advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention functions strictly under our instructions; other companies and public authorities as required to prevent fraud, comply with law, or protect rights, property, or safety; law enforcement and judicial authorities as legally mandated; and third parties in the context of business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, or sales. In such transactions, user data may be among the transferred assets.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. Gameplay statistics and device data are kept for the duration of your account usage and deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request, or retained for up to one year after game closure if no request is made. Open identifiers and IP addresses follow a similar retention period, with deletion occurring within 15 days of a deletion request.

Transaction records are retained for the duration of your account and for any legally required retention period thereafter. Customer support records and security-related data are deleted within 30 days of a valid deletion request. Survey responses are stored for up to six months if an email address is provided, or one month if no such contact detail is included, after which the data is anonymized.

When personal information reaches the end of its retention lifecycle, we permanently destroy it using methods that render it irretrievable and non-reproducible.

5. Your Rights

You have rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, and restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, as well as the right to data portability. Some rights may apply only under certain circumstances.

You may exercise these rights by contacting us at support@civirevival.com. We will respond without undue delay and in any event within one month, with a possible extension of up to two additional months as permitted by law.

If providing your personal data would infringe the rights of others, such as revealing third-party information or our trade secrets, we may not be able to fully comply with your request. Where justified under data protection laws (for example, in defending legal claims), we may retain certain personal data despite a deletion request, but we will inform you of such grounds.

6. Security

We have implemented administrative, physical, and technical measures designed to protect your information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no security measures can guarantee complete protection.

7. Third-Party Links

Our services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services that we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies before engaging with them.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. In the event of a material change in how we collect, use, store, or share your personal information, we will notify you by email to your last provided address or via notices within our services. Continued use of our services after notification or posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not accept the revised terms, you must cease using our services.

9. Contact and Complaints

Questions, comments, and requests regarding this Policy are welcome and should be addressed to support@civirevival.com.

If you wish to lodge a complaint regarding our handling of your personal information, please contact us first. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you have the right to contact your local data protection authority.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

Any disputes related to this Policy shall be resolved amicably where possible. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.

11. Language

In the event of any discrepancies arising from translations of this Policy, the English version shall prevail.
